SWPONL is excited to announce a partnership with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank at this year’s conference. In southwestern Pennsylvania, 1 in 8 of our neighbors (including 1 in 5 children) face the daily struggles of living with food insecurity. At Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, their mission is to leverage the power of community to achieve lasting solutions to hunger and its root causes with the goal of creating communities where everyone has access to the food and resources they need to thrive. With over 1,000 partner agencies in their 11-county service area, GPCFB is dedicated to ensuring everybody has access to the healthy food they need to survive and thrive. We encourage you to participate in a collection of needed items for neighbors experiencing food insecurity and bring them to the SWPONL 2026 Annual Conference. Collections will take place on both Thursday and Friday, September 3-4. Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s Community Fundraising Coordinator, Sarah Wagner, will be onsite during the conference. GPCFB is seeking donations of these most needed items:
NOTE: Pop top cans and microwaveable cups preferred. Please, NO
glass items. Monetary donations are also appreciated. Every $1 collected will help provide up to 3 meals for a neighbor in need. Monetary donations help support the purchase of fresh foods that cannot be donated by individuals (fresh produce, dairy, eggs, frozen meat, etc.):
Thank you, in advance, for supporting Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s mission to help ensure that everybody who needs a healthy meal can get one! Get involved! |
